RIYADH: Saudi Arabia’s Manga Productions became the first Middle Eastern sponsor of AnimeJapan 2025, one of the world’s largest anime conventions, held at Tokyo Big Sight.
The four-day event attracted over 150,000 visitors and featured 100+ exhibitors, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s growing presence in the global anime industry.
Manga Productions, a subsidiary of the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation (Misk), showcased interactive exhibits, including traditional Saudi attire and coffee tastings, blending heritage with creativity.
CEO Essam Bukhary delivered a keynote titled "A New Era of Animation! The Future of ‘Saudinimation’ Driven by Japan and Saudi Arabia," emphasizing collaboration and co-production opportunities.
Prominent Japanese officials, including Vice Ministers Akamatsu Ken and Kobayashi Fumiaki, visited the Saudi pavilion, reflecting strong cultural ties.
Marketing Director Abdulaziz Al-Mowani highlighted the event’s role in shaping Saudi Arabia’s creative identity and fostering strategic industry connections.
